Thanks for the information about Staker&#039;s project. I am glad that somebne besides myself is interested in finding more about the New York origins of Mormonism. It might be unrealistic at this point, but the payoff for understanding who Joseph Smith&#039;s enemies were and who was in on his legal proceedings, might uncover record of another trial or help resolve the ambiguity associated with the Addison Everett account for Peter, James, and John&#039;s visitation. For example, Cornell University has some of David McMaster&#039;s legal papers. It would be interesting to see if it has any leads.
